Information icon Hello, I'm Dennis Bratland. I wanted to let you know that I removed one or more external links you added to the page Steve McQueen, because they seemed to be inappropriate for an encyclopedia. If you think I made a mistake, or if you have any questions, you can leave me a message on my talk page, or take a look at our guidelines about links. Thank you. Stop icon

When adding links to material on external sites, as you did to In the Air Tonight, please ensure that the external site is not violating the creator's copyright. Linking to websites that display copyrighted works is acceptable as long as the website's operator has created or licensed the work. Knowingly directing others to a site that violates copyright may be considered contributory infringement. This is particularly relevant when linking to sites such as YouTube, where due care should be taken to avoid linking to material that violates its creator's copyright. Misplaced Pages takes copyright violations very seriously, and persistent violators will be blocked from editing.

If you believe the linked site is not violating copyright with respect to the material, then you should do one of the following:

  • If the linked site is the copyright holder, leave a message explaining the details on the article Talk page;
  • If a note on the linked site credibly claims permission to host the material, or a note on the copyright holder's site grants such permission, leave a note on the article Talk page with a link to where we can find that note;
  • If you are the copyright holder or the external site administrator, adjust the linked site to indicate permission as above and leave a note on the article Talk page;

If the material is available on a different site that satisfies one of the above conditions, link to that site instead. Binksternet (talk) 23:07, 24 November 2014 (UTC)

Warning icon Please stop your disruptive editing. If you continue to use disruptive, inappropriate or hard-to-read formatting, as you did at A Perfect Getaway, you may be blocked from editing. There is a Misplaced Pages Manual of Style, and edits should not deliberately go against it without special reason. Please do not violate the instructions at WP:FILMPLOT which limit the plot section to 700 words. Binksternet (talk) 19:14, 30 December 2014 (UTC)

Information icon Hello, and welcome to Misplaced Pages. You appear to be engaged in an edit war with one or more editors according to your reverts at A Perfect Getaway. Although repeatedly reverting or undoing another editor's contributions may seem necessary to protect your preferred version of a page, on Misplaced Pages this is usually seen as obstructing the normal editing process, and often creates animosity between editors. Instead of edit warring, please discuss the situation with the editor(s) involved and try to reach a consensus on the talk page.

If editors continue to revert to their preferred version they are likely to be blocked from editing. This isn't done to punish an editor, but to prevent the disruption caused by edit warring. In particular, editors should be aware of the three-revert rule, which says that an editor must not perform more than three reverts on a single page within a 24-hour period. While edit warring on Misplaced Pages is not acceptable in any amount, breaking the three-revert rule is very likely to lead to a block. Thank you. Binksternet (talk) 20:38, 30 December 2014 (UTC)

Stop icon Do not use multiple IP addresses to vandalize Misplaced Pages, like you did at A Perfect Getaway. Such attempts to avoid detection, or circumvent the blocking policy will not succeed. You are welcome to contribute constructively to Misplaced Pages but your recent edits have been reverted or removed. If you continue to vandalize Misplaced Pages you may be blocked from editing without further notice.Do not continue edit warring by way of 91.125.235.250 (talk · contribs · WHOIS). Disambiguation link notification for February 1

Hi. Thank you for your recent edits. Misplaced Pages appreciates your help. We noticed though that when you edited California Dreamin', you added a link pointing to the disambiguation page Top Gear (check to confirm | fix with Dab solver). Such links are almost always unintended, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of "Did you mean..." article titles. Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.

It's OK to remove this message. Also, to stop receiving these messages, follow these opt-out instructions. Thanks, DPL bot (talk) 09:03, 1 February 2015 (UTC)

July 2015

Information icon Please refrain from making unconstructive edits to Misplaced Pages, as you did at Tina Barrett. Your edits appear to be disruptive and have been reverted or removed.

  • If you are engaged in an article content dispute with another editor then please discuss the matter with the editor at their talk page, or the article's talk page. Alternatively you can read Misplaced Pages's dispute resolution page, and ask for independent help at one of the relevant notice boards.
  • If you are engaged in any other form of dispute that is not covered on the dispute resolution page, please seek assistance at Misplaced Pages's Administrators' noticeboard/Incidents.

Please ensure you are familiar with Misplaced Pages's policies and guidelines, and please do not continue to make edits that appear disruptive, until the dispute is resolved through consensus. Continuing to edit disruptively could result in loss of editing privileges. Diff: Your resubmission of this contested content is inappropriate. Per WP:BRD, when you are reverted, you need to seek consensus for the content you are adding. I have already opened a discussion for you. If you resubmit this problematic content without achieving consensus, it will be considered disruptive and it can result in your account being blocked. Let's please avoid that.
