Frank "Frankie" James Michael Grande Marchione (born January 24, 1983) is an American Broadway actor, singer, dancer, producer, director, and YouTube personality from New York, New York. He is the older half brother of pop and R&B singer and actress Ariana Grande. He has performed in the Broadway production of Mamma Mia! and in other theatre productions, produced Broadway shows and appeared in cabaret acts. In 2014, he is currently a contestant on the reality television series Big Brother 16.

Life and career

Grande grew up in Boca Raton, Florida, where he attended Pine Crest School. He graduated from Muhlenberg College in Pennsylvania in 2005, having triple-majored in biology, theatre and dance.

He began his acting career in 2007, appearing as Boots the Monkey in a national tour of Dora the Explorer Live! (Dora's Pirate Adventure) and in regional productions including George M! and A Chorus Line. By 2007 he had joined the Broadway cast of the musical Mamma Mia! in the ensemble and as understudy for Eddie, in which he performed for three years. Grande was named "Mr. Broadway" in the "Mr. Broadway 2007" charity benefit. He co-founded the non-profit arts organization "Broadway in South Africa", travelling to South Africa to work with disadvantaged youth. Grande also helped buildOn to build a school in a rural village in Malawi, and in 2014, he received the Global Impact Award from buildOn.

Grande has produced shows on and off Broadway, including the Broadway productions of Hamlet (2009) starring Jude Law, La Bête (2010–11), starring David Hyde Pierce, and Born Yesterday (2011), starring Jim Belushi. Grande has performed in cabaret acts in New York City, including at Birdland Jazz Club and 54 Below. In 2013, he starred as Bobby in a regional theatre production of the musical Crazy for You. In February 2014, he starred Off-Broadway in a revival of the musical Pageant. In 2013, Grande presented his own show in New York, Living La Vida Grande at the Laurie Beechman Theatre. He has also toured with Justin Bieber, and his sister, Ariana Grande, on the Believe Tour as a dancer. In June 2014, Grande performed at DigiFest NYC, and his photo on stage there was featured in the The New York Times.

As of July 2014, Grande had over 200,000 YouTube subscribers with more than 10 million views, and more than 500,000 followers each on Twitter and Instagram. Grande is openly gay.

Appearance on Big Brother

While in the house, Grande formed an alliance called the "Bomb Squad" and made a final two deal with Zach. Grande was also one of three members whom fans voted for to participate in this season's twist, Team America, and won $5,000 for each task successfully completed. He won the Head of Household (HoH) competitions in weeks one and four, but lost his status as HoH both times after his nominees won the "Battle of the Block" competitions. Grande received the news of his grandfather's death on the show, but decided against leaving Big Brother. He won his third HoH competition in week five. At the end of the week, he was the sole HoH after his nominees lost the "Battle of the Block" competition.
