Dear Sir, | |||
Please be informed that you removed the CSD notice with an unresonable rational in contradition of basic wikipedia policy. The article is not ] - the criteria like notability does not apply to groups of articles it applies individualy. So even if it is grounds for including 100 articles in a category - it does not justify article no 101. OrenBochman 07:02, 19 June 2012 (UTC) |

Thanks for the Google book sources, but if you look closely at those, you'll see that they're all OCR errors of "vegetarianism" by Google Books. Scopecreep (talk) 15:05, 30 April 2012 (UTC)

Barnstar for Pray to Kill and Return Alive
Researcher's Barnstar | ||
I am both pleased and honored to present you with the Researcher's Barnstar in appreciation for your superb work in supplying sources showing Prega il morto e ammazza il vivo as notable enough to Italy to be included within the English Misplaced Pages to serve its readers. Excellent job! Good working with you. Many thanks. Schmidt, 21:15, 14 May 2012 (UTC) |
- Michael Q. Schmidt beat me to it, but I fully second his sentiment. Thank you for the good job! Huon (talk) 21:53, 14 May 2012 (UTC)
- I third this. Any way we can work a 1) close the AFD, 2) move it to the most common English language title 3) nominate it for DYK? I have no time to spend on the article, as I am prepping to start shooting my own Spaghetti Western (sorta) in two weeks, but this would be a fun DYK. 68.107.135.58 (talk) 00:55, 15 May 2012 (UTC) (Shared computer.)
- 1) As there are no outstanding delete votes, someone who has not been involved in the discussion will come by and close it soon per WP:SNOW. 2) Per Misplaced Pages:Naming conventions (films)#Rationale stating "Titles of articles should be the most commonly used title....", and as there is precedent for doing so, I opt for the more commonly used and more sourcable Italian title of Prega il Morto e Ammazza il Vivo and a modification of the lede (with setting of redirects) to share that it had the several (less common and less searcable) English titles of Pray to Kill and Return Alive, Shoot the Living and Pray for the Dead, To Kill a Jackal, and Renegade Gun. 3) Once THAT is done, I would be happy to submit a DYK and will encourage ideas from you both for a suitable hook. Schmidt, 05:22, 15 May 2012 (UTC)
Congratulations on the barnstar. Auchansa (talk) 04:36, 9 June 2012 (UTC)

Proposed revision to lede:
Prega il Morto e Ammazza il Vivo is the original release title of the 1971 Italian dramatic spaghetti western film directed by Giuseppe Vari, and starring Klaus Kinski and Dante Maggio. Among its many international releases, the film had English releases as Pray to Kill and Return Alive, Shoot the Living and Pray for the Dead, To Kill a Jackal, and Renegade Gun. The script by Adriano Bolzoni is inspired by American noir-crime films of the 1930s and 1940s, and Kinski's entry into the scene reprises Edward G. Robinson's in Key Largo (1948).

- Can we put the most common English title parentheses in bold immediately after the Italian title? Please do not list the Misplaced Pages translation first in the list of alternative titles, whatever you do, as it is not the most common English title, but has gained in popularity due to the Misplaced Pages article. I'm not keen on having the article under its Italian title; but I am okay with it. 68.107.135.58 (talk) 02:08, 16 May 2012 (UTC)
- Can do, sure. But which would you consider the most common English title? The "wrong" English title is the poorly translated one used at IMDB... and being so poor, it provides to poorest range of sources when used in searches. That's why this was sent to AFD in the first place: The nominator could not find decent sources using it. I understand your not being keen on the orginal Italian release title, but it far and away the most searchable and sourcable, and occasional use of foreign titles for such reason has precedent here. So whch do you find better to be emboldened following the Italian... Shoot the Living and Pray for the Dead, To Kill a Jackal, or Renegade Gun? Schmidt, 06:03, 16 May 2012 (UTC)
- Shoot the Living and Pray for the Dead. We could do searches. This should be discussed on the article talk page if we're going for much more. 68.107.135.58 (talk) 06:21, 16 May 2012 (UTC)
- Incorporated. See article itself. And yes, anything else can be discussed on its talk page. Simply awaiting a close. Schmidt, 16:24, 16 May 2012 (UTC)

WP:BEFORE
Just so you know, WP:BEFORE is section of Misplaced Pages:Articles for deletion, and is a guide to part of the AfD process. Contrary to your apparent feelings, it's not really relevant outside of that sphere (e.g. with regard to prodded content). Even if it were a relevant policy or guideline, your repeated assertions that I haven't applied it are at best presumptuous, and at worst a failure to assume good faith. – hysteria18 (talk) 17:06, 23 May 2012 (UTC)

When notified of improvements the nom has changed his mind... and upon my instructions, struck his statement and changed to keep. :) Anyone could close it now, I suppose. But as the "involved" editor who addressed issues, it would be unseemly if I were to do so.
Here's my DYK suggestion. A 32x expansion of a stub is not too bad. Schmidt, 01:45, 27 May 2012 (UTC)

Island: Wedding of the Zombies article and AGF
Hi Cavarrone, I wanted to let you know that I worked on adding new content and sources to the Island: Wedding of the Zombies article to help establish notability. I just wanted to mention that your comments in your edit summaries can come off a bit abrasive and assuming good faith and trying to work with others would go a lot further toward improving Misplaced Pages and the articles. Rather than removing the notability tag I placed and saying "notability tag for what? article shows multiple reliable significant secondary sources...", you could have instead responded to the discussion that I began on the talk page where I explained my thoughts on those sources and the notability of the article. Either way, the article was improved and I have no hard feelings. I just feel that in the future you could try more to work with others and assume good faith; I wouldn't want to see any new users turn away from contributing due to a bad experience.
You were correct in removing the Prod that I put and I will put more effort in the future into searching for sources beforehand. AdventurousSquirrel (talk) 22:42, 30 May 2012 (UTC)

Hello again Cavarrone, are you making an assumption that I'm referring to the only one of the three refs that aren't rotting ? As you improved the article, this is moot of course. Widefox (talk) 11:45, 1 June 2012 (UTC)
- Hi Widefox, then, what linkrot are you referring to? The article showed three sources, excluding the paywalled one there remains two archivied articles, 1 and 2, that surely does not appear as dead links (not even to you, if you correctly added a FAILED VERIFICATION TAG at the first link ...) and WP has nothing against this kind of services (ie see WP:LINKROT#Web archive services, WP:WAYBACK and WP:WEBCITE). Cavarrone (talk) 13:11, 1 June 2012 (UTC)
- Ok I understand now, have you read ref 1.? By throwing up all these doubts about other's edits, it appears to be a WP:AGF issue? Widefox (talk) 13:55, 1 June 2012 (UTC)
- I don't know, maybe it was just an error... surely it did not support the facts which referenced it. Anyway it is now removed. Cavarrone (talk) 14:51, 1 June 2012 (UTC)

Polynomial recurrence
Hi Cavarrone, If you found book sources that support the notability of Polynomial recurrence, could you mention them somewhere other users can use them to improve the article? (To be honest, if what you did was just an internet search, I think you'll have drawn an awful lot of false positives.) Thanks, --Joel B. Lewis (talk) 14:43, 2 June 2012 (UTC)
