Thanks!
Thanks for bringing back Tourist Attraction Rating Categories of China. It was a shame when that article got deleted last semester, because it's useful information for many a foreign tourist. Njnu-ban-xueshenghao (talk) 13:16, 10 April 2012 (UTC)
- You're welcome. I forgot about how this played out exactly last semester. I Remember I was asking for it, but thought it was never created; anyway, its notability is so evident... Can I ask you to provide a chinese translation of the name and suggest the best translation in English? The problem with this type of things is that it is not easy to find because of a multitude of translations (also scenic spots etc is used). Rgds! L.tak (talk) 13:44, 10 April 2012 (UTC)
- One student tried, and did a reasonably good job of it, from what I recall; but it got Afded and she didn't defend it. I think the translation is pretty good; the word is technically "Scenic Areas" but that designation would not apply as well as "Tourist Attraction" for many of the places concerned.

Hello! Thanks for your edit. http://en.wikipedia.org/search/?title=Wang_Zigan&diff=487142041&oldid=487140001 But I think my writting is correct. Both Feburary and February are correct. And can you tell me where did you find the information about the book? I'm just trying to make sure if 方阳 is one of the authors. Thanks! :) --NNUR06LizaZhang21081235 (talk) 16:48, 13 April 2012 (UTC)
- well, I have never heard of feburary and think that -if it is correct- it is not regularly applied. See for example Month, where it is not mentioned... As for the ref; you might be right and I misinterpreted the authorship (I don't speak chinese, so it always is a challenge). I will change that... L.tak (talk) 16:55, 13 April 2012 (UTC)
- my link comes from clicking the isbn link. it is here. But, it is more logic to take as title: The art of paper cut and author: Wang Zigan... Feel free to change! L.tak (talk) 16:57, 13 April 2012 (UTC)
oh... you are right, feburary sounds strange.... What language do you speak then? (or where are you from?) I thought your are all Chinese... How did you become the HELPER? ;) --NNUR06LizaZhang21081235 (talk) 17:19, 13 April 2012 (UTC)
- I come from the Netherlands and speak Dutch. I came to help here because the previous project had problems. I know how to edit wikipedia and some of its policies; but I am (just like the authors) a simple volunteer that decided to help a bit... L.tak (talk) 17:25, 13 April 2012 (UTC)

Appreciation!
Thanks for your instructions and patience! We've noticed that our article was approved to go to DYK, which is really inspiring. Our team members are all quite exited about this, even though we may have done not that well in Josh's midterm... and my German... Anyhow, thank you very much! ≧▽≦

- It seems that is is through indeed. I suspect it will be on the main page for 8 hours in about 26 hours from now (1am GMT18 April). Congratulations to all of you on a job well done. I am quite impressed by the quality of your work (both in wikipedia-things and English translation skills...)... L.tak (talk) 22:22, 16 April 2012 (UTC)
DYK for Tomb of the King of Boni
On 17 April 2012, Did you know? was updated with a fact from the article Tomb of the King of Boni, which you recently nominated. The fact was ... that China had such appeal during the Ming Dynasty that even a king from Borneo insisted to have his tomb there? The nomination discussion and review may be seen at Template:Did you know nominations/Tomb of the King of Boni. If you know of an interesting fact from another recently created article, then please suggest it on the Did you know? talk page. |

Thanks for feedback and
Thanks for giving us feedback and suggestions about the Yang Huanyi article. http://en.wikipedia.org/Wikipedia:School_and_university_projects/NNU_Class_Project/Winter_2012/Drafts/Yang_Huanyi
Here is my confusion and don't know.
1.I don't know how to format the references.
2."proficient" can be adjective.
3."millet" is a kind of crop. — Preceding unsigned comment added by NNUCSL10VeraLiu24110114 (talk • contribs)
- Dear Vera. It is improved indeed! I have filled out the references for you and made alink to millet. Two more things to do: i) remove the links for Nüshu: 1 link per article is the maximum... and in the references, please provide a translation for the chinese titles... Furthermore, "Enter 20 centuries 90 time, Yang was the only descendent of Nüshu." is not clear to me; can you rephrase?
As for "proficient": yes, it can only be adiective, but you use it not that way. I think: you should use: "proficient user" or "proficient speaker and writer" instead of just "proficient"... good luck! L.tak (talk) 09:29, 22 April 2012 (UTC)
Thank you again
Thank you for all the suggestions.
1. I have removed unnecessary links for Nüshu, and actually I think it unnecessary to link every Nüshu too.
2."Enter 20 centuries 90 time, Yang was the only descendent of Nüshu." This sentence means when it came to the 1990s, after other proficient users of Nüshu passed away, Yang was the only descendent of Nüshu. Maybe there is something wrong with the way I represent it.
3."in the references, please provide a translation for the chinese titles..." You mean the translation of the thtles of the passage? I provide the translation at the reference colomn? — Preceding unsigned comment added by NNUCSL10VeraLiu24110114 (talk • contribs) 09:20, 23 April 2012 (UTC)
- 3. I mean translation of the title of the newspaper/website you cite (not the passage that is important, just the translation of the chinese title you have typed). I have indicated the places where that is needed at (TRANSLATION HERE) etc. If you click "edit" and then look for those instances; you can easily find them (I guess).
- 2. If you use 20 centuries, you should use "the 20th century" (otherwise you mean "20 centuries" = 20*100=2000 years!). Your explanation on this page is much better than what you wrote in the article. You can write: "By the end of the 20th century" or "during the 1990s", after other users of Nushu had passed away, Yang was the only proficient user of Nushu (NB: descendent means son/daughter etc, you use it too broad...)
- 1 good...
Good luck! L.tak (talk) 09:30, 23 April 2012 (UTC)

Zanzibar women's national football team
Thank you for taking the time to fix the problems identified in Zanzibar women's national football team. These were not intentionally and normally, I am better at having source matching. (Though fluidity of my prose is a problem.) Hopefully, these fixes will help it get past WP:GAN at some point as I really like seeing women's topics in places like Africa improved. --LauraHale (talk) 23:40, 27 April 2012 (UTC)
- He Laura, I am sure they weren't; it's a pitty that changing a hook after approving happens in a bit more visible environment than otherwise; but the article as it stands now is interesting and very informative. And it is indeed countering the Western+Male bias that we have in (en-) wikipedia, which is a very good thing (it's my main motivation to help out getting more Chinese articles in mainspace with the NNU class project). And as for fluidity; I am struggling to keep my Dutch out my writing which is a guarantee for much worse prose! L.tak (talk) 09:09, 28 April 2012 (UTC)

Edit warring
Thank you for the message. I have read up about the policies surrounding edit warring, 3RR, etc. My conclusion is that your actions are inappropriate. While I did edit war in the past, lately I have not violated any 3RR policies or even 1RR. On the other hand, your revert without any discussion on the talk page is not only hypocritical based on what you told me, but also edit warring yourself. I have at least engaged in discussion on the talk page. You have not. You simply reverted without any justification. Undoing edit warring is not proper justification for reverting. It takes 2 parties to edit war, and by reverting you are joining the 2nd party and assuming that their edit is correct. You have the right to that opinion, but not the right to revert without providing any justification. Palestine is by no means a sovereign nation. It does not control its land or have internationally recognized borders. Their symbolic declaration of independence in 1988 did not have any effect on the world map. Palestine does not appear on world maps today for that reason. What does often appear on world maps are the West Bank and Gaza, which is why I have made sure these territories appear in the article in the appropriate dates. As you mentioned in your message, consensus should be built on the talk page among multiple editors. I made an attempt to discuss and compromise on the talk page, and the other editors did not join so consensus is impossible. I have my justification, pointed out the reasons why Palestine is not sovereign and did not represent a world map change, and noted that I welcome other editors to provide a source if they want to include the disputed content. No other editors have done any of this. As such, the content is incorrect and unsourced, and you have reinserted it into the article. I invite you to self-revert or provide the needed references to back up your apparent position that Palestine is a sovereign nation that constitutes a world map change. 99.237.236.218 (talk) 18:09, 5 May 2012 (UTC)
- My justification was simple: you inserted 3 times within a week without using talk. Then I just go back to the most stable version and that was the one with Palestine. I have no opinion on whether to remove it or not, but will not allow people to add it or remove something which was stable without getting consensus. I will therefore not self-revert. Should you revert, then I will notify the edit warring noticeboard... L.tak (talk) 18:19, 5 May 2012 (UTC)

NNU wrap-up time is May 30
Hello. There are still some articles at Misplaced Pages:School and university projects/NNU Class Project/Winter 2012/Student list that need moving to the mainspace. Some have rubbish references and could be AfDd, so best not move those. But many just need a bit of cleanup and a move. If you have time to do a few, we would be much obliged. Best, Anna Frodesiak (talk) 12:46, 24 May 2012 (UTC)
Schengen Area
Thank you for sharing your opinion on talk page of Schengen Area. Please do not involve in vandalism on the Schengen Area map and try to find a consensus to implement new changes. Clearly we don't see any reason why we should implement Ro and Bg to the main map. Be careful not to edit articles without consensus. Thank you.--Camoka4 (talk) 21:22, 7 June 2012 (UTC)
