Heatseeker is a jet fighter game for the Wii, PlayStation 2, and PlayStation Portable game systems jointly developed by IR Gurus (now Transmission Games) and Codemasters. The PS2 and Wii versions of the game were released on March 30, 2007 in both Europe and Australia, and on May 1, 2007 in the US. The PSP version was released on May 8, 2007 in the US, May 25, 2007 in Europe, and on June 1, 2007 in Australia.
Story
Players take on the role of an International Council pilot Mike "Downtown" Hudson, often accompanied by wingman Hank "Divot" Harrison. The game begins with a terrorist attack. The plot follows the International Council's attempt to thwart a dangerous dictator with an advanced nuclear cache named Bae Jung-Tae. Along the way, the player uses their flying and fighting skills to tackle a range enemies in the air, on land and at sea.
Gameplay
Heatseeker is an aerial combat game that pits players against a variety of computer-controlled airborne opponents. Players are equipped with modern military hardware and a choice of weapons. The game offers players access to over 30 jets and 40 different weapons.
Missions take place over Korea, the Caribbean and Antarctica. Heatseeker has a display feature called ImpactCam, which allows the player to follow the progress of a missile once it is fired through to impact, from several camera angles. Environments are destructible, and players can blow up bridges, airports, docks, and military bases. The game offers players the choice between first and third person viewpoints.

International Council - all aircraft of the International Council are NATO-made fighters. This includes the following:

- F-35 Lightning II
- F-22 Raptor
- F-117 Nighthawk
- F-16 Falcon
- F/A-18 Hornet
- T-45 Goshawk
Pirates, Vertana, Federation, Kamcha - all aircraft of the Pirates, Vertana, Federation, Kamcha are Soviet/Russian made fighers. This include the following:
- Su-47 Berkut
- MiG-27 Flogger
- Mikoyan Project 1.44
- MiG-31 Foxhound
- MiG-29 Fulcrum
- Yak-141 Freestyle
- Su-27 Flanker
- Su-34 Fullback
- Su-35
Some of this aircraft are unlockables.
Vessels
International Council - all vessels of the International Council are fictional although the are similar to US Navy ships. This includes the following:
- USS Nemesis - Similar to the Nimitz class aircraft carrier
- Javelin class destroyer - Similar to the Zumwalt class destroyer except bow is very different in the gameplay.
- Battlegroup Guardian - Similar to the Montana class battleship except there are only 2 main turrents in one ship.
Pirates, Vertana, Federation, Kamcha - all vessels of the Pirates, Vertana, Federation, Kamcha are vessels of the Russian Navy. This includes the following:
- Kirov class cruiser
- Admiral Kuznetsov class aircraft carrier
- Nanuchka class corvette
- Sovremenny class destroyer
- Udaloy class destroyer
- Typhoon class submarine
- There are Midget Submarines that are similar to the Ko-hyoteki class submarine. They refered to as Mini-Sub
- Speedboat, only used by the Pirates
Vehicles
- UAZ-469
- T-80. There are Many T-80 Tanks in the gameplay are being equip with AA Laser guns, they are called T-80 Laser Tank
- BM-30 Smerch, all BM-30s armament in the gameplay are cruse missiles
- T-90. There are Many T-90 Tanks in the gameplay are being equip with AA Laser guns, they are called T-90 Laser Tank
- Amphibious Assault Vehicle

- Antonov An-225, only used by the Kamcha Military as Nuclear weapons transprot.

Reception
Heatseeker received mixed reviews, including a 7.6/10 from IGN UK, 87% from Official Nintendo Magazine, a 7.5/10 from Nintendo Power, and a 10/5 from Electronic Gaming Monthly.
