Signing your edits

Hi there. In case you didn't know, when you add content to talk pages and Misplaced Pages pages that have open discussion, you should sign your posts by typing four tildes ( ~~~~ ) at the end of your comment. If you can't type the tilde character, you should click on the signature button located above the edit window. This will automatically insert a signature with your name and the time you posted the comment. This information is useful because other editors will be able to tell who said what, and when. I agred to do what you think is best this other poster got the better of me but, again, I just dont back down to threats. If you want to edit the section to make a qualified statement such as "Some medical reports indicate pulsatile irrigation........" I am ok with that. I really think this poster (67.170.1.167 and 71.227.174.7 who are the same) is out of line with the blatant and bigoted homosexual reference and should be banned if that is possible which I am guessing is not. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Grockl (talk • contribs)

It's possible, though not very likely for the first offence of this kind. And of course it's hard to enforce a ban technically without excluding all Comcast users in the region from Misplaced Pages, which is not going to happen. So far no admin has reacted to my ANI post. I added a qualifier statement which I hope will demonstrate a level of compromise while still referencing the clinical claims that do support pulsatile rrigation as a more effective method of irrigation. None of the claims referenced have been authored or published by Dr. Grossan they are all authored by other ENT physicians. --Grockl (talk) 00:19, 20 April 2009 (UTC)

Personal attacks by IP editor

Hello Grockl. You can request temporary semiprotection of your Talk page at WP:RFPP if you want. To remain on the high ground yourself, please try to avoid this kind of language in your own edit summaries. I have semiprotected the Nasal irrigation article for two weeks. Re your message: Unfortunately, I can not delete your user talk page as doing so does not normally occur unless you request the right to vanish, which I believe you are not doing. The history of a talk page is not searchable by most search engines like Google, so children stumbling upon your talk page archives is unlikely. Additionally, I hate to say this, but there are far worse insults that are on other editor's talk histories than the ones that exist in yours. Instead of deleting the talk page or hiding the offending edits, I can semi-protect your user talk page for a week, which I have done so. This will prevent any anonymous or new editor comments from being added to your user talk page for a week. -- Gogo Dodo (talk) 05:21, 5 May 2009 (UTC)
