Hey
Thanks for the heads up/note. Cirt (talk) 01:17, 25 June 2008 (UTC)
Hello!
Thanks for offering help! That's really kind of you. But right now, I don't have many questions. The only thing I want to know is how to make friends on Misplaced Pages. I don't know if I'd consider Bignole my friend, since we've only known each other for a couple of days. I don't think you and I are friend quite yet either. I just feel like everyone here has so many connections with other Wikipedians, and I barely know anyone. What should I do? --Soccer5525 (Tk • Ctrb) 17:44, 25 June 2008 (UTC)
I do have one question though. On your userpage (in the miscellaneous section) it says that you and Bignole actually run Misplaced Pages. Is that true/ Does that make you an Admin? --Soccer5525 (Tk • Ctrb) 17:46, 25 June 2008 (UTC)
Oh, I understand. I have made one friend though, who I met from editing an article about our hometown. (We both used to live in the same town, but now she moved away. At least I think she's a she...(: ) I know I may sound ridiculous asking this but.........would you like to be friends? Oh god, I totally regret saying that! --Soccer5525 (Tk • Ctrb) 17:55, 25 June 2008 (UTC)
OMG! Thank you! I totally thought you'd just treat me like crap when I asked that, but now I feel much better! Hopefully, now I won't seem like such a fish out of water! --Soccer5525 (Tk • Ctrb) 18:01, 25 June 2008 (UTC)
I may be new to Misplaced Pages, but I'm not completely clueless! It was nice of you to add that info on my talk page, but I already now all that stuff! But it was a nice jesture! (I joined Misplaced Pages 2 months ago, so I pretty much know the ropes by now!) --Soccer5525 (Tk • Ctrb) 18:08, 25 June 2008 (UTC)
I do have another question though. For my userpage, I want to make different sections for my userboxes. I don't know how to do that. Could you help me? --Soccer5525 (Tk • Ctrb) 18:10, 25 June 2008 (UTC)
I actually wanted different userboxes to be in different sections. (i.e, Sports, Animals, Personal) --Soccer5525 (Tk • Ctrb) 18:18, 25 June 2008 (UTC)
Thanks for doing that! I'll fix it up the way I want later. Geez, you're such a nice guy! --Soccer5525 (Tk • Ctrb) 19:36, 25 June 2008 (UTC)
CHECK OUT MY USERPAGE! It looks great! --Soccer5525 (Tk • Ctrb) 19:53, 25 June 2008 (UTC)
Thanks for fixing that! But also, you know where it says, "My Userboxes!", why is it in that weird box and in that weird font? What's up with that? Can you fix it? --Soccer5525 (Tk • Ctrb) 19:58, 25 June 2008 (UTC)
Thanks for clearing that up! Give Bignole my thanks! --Soccer5525 (Tk • Ctrb) 20:03, 25 June 2008 (UTC)
Can you un-center the stuff on my talk page for me? I tried, but failed. --Soccer5525 (Tk • Ctrb) 20:18, 25 June 2008 (UTC)
Nevermind! --Soccer5525 (Tk • Ctrb) 20:19, 25 June 2008 (UTC)
I know! I hate it when you forget little tiny things after thinking you have everything! Well, I hope you have a great trip! Talk to you when you get back! --Soccer5525 (Tk • Ctrb) 20:17, 26 June 2008 (UTC)

Friday the 13th (2009)
The difference between the new Friday the 13th and those films is that it has completely wrapped principal photography and has already begun editing. It has a release date and is already in post-production. If we removed every film that was in post-production from wikipedia, 2009 in film and 2010 in film would be empty. Friday the 13th (2009) should, by this point, have its own page here.DepTrus (talk) 20:06, 25 June 2008 (UTC)
- I know production has taken place, because I saw a brief (30 sec) video of some scenes they were filming, plus the mask itself. Unfortunately, there isn't a reliable source confirming the start or end date (I'll have to check the producer's blog again to see if he's updated it), and there certainly isn't any specific coverage of the production itself. They've stated that they are chronicling everything for the DVD, but they aren't telling fans much at this point in regards to what they are actually doing. BIGNOLE (Contact me) 20:16, 25 June 2008 (UTC)
- Well, at least as far as films go...it's probably not far off. MUAHAHAHAHAHA!!! I'm only kidding. BIGNOLE (Contact me) 20:20, 25 June 2008 (UTC)
Re: Hancock
Yeah, I didn't notice at first, but it definitely seems to follow a similar path to the article. But like I said the other day after the Kermode thing, we should probably just take it as a compliment that people are using our hard work in the way it was intended. In Hancock's week of release, it'll be an interesting game to see just how many articles are lifting sections without even bothering to paraphrase. Steve 22:34, 25 June 2008 (UTC)
- IGN ripped off the entire KOTCS page for its preview. Alientraveller (talk) 13:46, 26 June 2008 (UTC)
- I sent them mail clarifying it was Marshall, not Spielberg, who told Empire the film only had a "couple of a hundred" effects shots. Alas, we were all wrong as the film actually has 560 effects shots. Alientraveller (talk) 13:49, 26 June 2008 (UTC)
All those images but the last are copyrighted ("all rights reserved"), except the last image of Will and Charlize, but that's not allowed on Commons as it can't be used commercially (notice the stamp crossing out the dollar sign). Alientraveller (talk) 18:54, 3 July 2008 (UTC)
- I don't quite remember, just consult this. Are you actually looking forward to seeing this film or just want the experience of writing about a film you might not like? Alientraveller (talk) 19:11, 3 July 2008 (UTC)
- In any other summer I might've seen Hancock, but this is a year with Indy, Batman, Bond, Aslan, two Avengers and Pixar (and it's awesome, as you can tell from that section on my page). I'd love to write an article on a film that was badly received, it's going to be five years since Van Helsing next year and that film was one I wasted a lot of expectation on (here's hoping Sommers' respite will work for G.I. Joe).
- Anyway, my whole family is excited for Batman, and that just speaks volumes for the cross-generational appeal of the character (and how great Begins is). Apart from Iron Man and QoS later this year, it's the only movie the non-film fans in my family are also excited to see. I am loving the beauty of TDK, its blue lights, the empty Gotham, and the foul wrinkles of the Joker's make-up. Seeing this film in IMAX would be a lovely once-in-a-lifetime opportunity, and I know I'd watch it again on DVD and therefore my family would want the cheaper option of seeing it locally, but gosh, it's very exciting, the Batman franchise is as popular as it used to be in the early 90s.
- How do you feel about Robin in part three? I think Nolan and Bale are putting up smokescreens, they've both read Batman: Dark Victory and understand Robin is the conclusion of Batman's arc in his formative years. I'd imagine Catwoman as the guest character, like Scarecrow and Joker are "guest stars" to the less flamboyant Ra's and Two-Face. Alientraveller (talk) 20:18, 3 July 2008 (UTC)
- I don't think it's so much Penquin is unrealistic, it's just that you put him in the film and he would come across as boring. Why put him there if you make him another mob boss? Not very Penquiny. As for Riddler, yeah, he'd be nice, but I'd rather see Catwoman and Robin as they really change Batman's outlook on life. Any chance of the return of the Al Ghul family? Hmmm, so many possibilities, I know Nolan will choose the right one, making the new film not focus on Joker but on Two-Face made perfect sense.
- Any opinions on The Day the Earth Stood Still, which has its trailer attached to Hancock? I'm still on the fence. Alientraveller (talk) 14:06, 4 July 2008 (UTC)
Is that the sort of thing you had in mind for reflecting the consensus? I tried to bulk it up as much as I could, but it still seems a little short. Ah, no matter. As for adding some more actual reviews, I'll see what I can knock together tomorrow. Steve 20:15, 3 July 2008 (UTC)
- Sounds like a good idea. I agree with the thought that it should be a series of loosely-worded suggestions, but I do think it'll get done a lot quicker if there's a rough proposal before bringing this up at WT:MOSFILM. I'll see if I can come up with something tonight; I've placed the current version in my sandbox if you want to tinker with it in the meantime. Steve 15:14, 5 July 2008 (UTC)
- That movie kicks ass. It's one of the best movies starring Will Smith (which by the way is my favorite actor) so far. It's become one of my favorites. I already made the review, but I have to print it before I can broadcast it on YouTube. TheBlazikenMaster (talk) 16:13, 5 July 2008 (UTC)
Note, I've moved the work-in-progress text to its own dedicated page at User:Steve/Reception, and your comments to its talk page, here. Steve 20:04, 5 July 2008 (UTC)

If you feel like you're forgetting someting, make a checklist of everything you need and make sure it's all in your suitcases. Whenever I am packing for a trip or vacation, I make a list of all the things I need and pack them. After I pack them, I check off that item. I've never forgotten anything since. --Soccer5525 (Tk • Ctrb) 14:31, 26 June 2008 (UTC)

Well, that's good to hear. I didn't really have a great weekend though. During my best friend, Leah's birthday party, she got a text message that said her cousin, Krista, had just died in a car accident. It happnened on her actual birthday too, which is just terrible. Leah told me that her cousin and her aunt were driving to the party, but a DUI truck driver rammed into them on the highway. It's just awful really. Her aunt lived though, because the truck hit the car on the shotgun side, where Krista was sitting. Krista was only 19 too.
Well anyway, do you like the cookie I gave you? --Soccer5525 (Tk • Ctrb) 14:17, 1 July 2008 (UTC)
I can't wait for the fourth either! In my town, just about everybody goes to the town high school, and brings lawn chairs and blankets to watch the fire works, which are set off in the baseball field behind some trees. (so no one can see!) But where I live, my whole family is able to see the fireworks from our porch. We live up on a big hill, and the high school is at the bottom of the hill. It's great because we can just relax, chill out and have some food, all in the comfort of our own home. --Soccer5525 (Tk • Ctrb) 14:33, 1 July 2008 (UTC)

Erik SUCKS
Erik you know I had a petition sighn for me to make the "changes from the series" and the "Critism" Sections of Dragon Ball (film). Ever hear of Deadlock 04, he sighned too. i have counted 546 on 70 peices of paper in the last two months. I decided to actually put it on wikipedia because so many fans, including people at the barber shop, the laundry mat, the school principal, and so on. Like I would just put my own opinion about the movie on the internet. I wasn't even going to write this if it weren't for 554 fan's that say the movie changed and sucks and that you Erika sucks. You could have asked me about this before you assumed it was only me.

Hi
Hi. --Soccer5525 (Tk • Ctrb) 19:04, 2 July 2008 (UTC)
I got bored so I thought I'd just say hi. Today's been a rough day for me. --Soccer5525 (Tk • Ctrb) 19:13, 2 July 2008 (UTC)
Well, today Leah's dog, Jupiter, died. I feel just terrible. She's not having the best of days. --Soccer5525 (Tk • Ctrb) 19:16, 2 July 2008 (UTC)
Yeah. I was at her house all day today. Right now, I'm at home, but I'm going back over there for dinner and a sleepover. Poor Jupiter. He was only 3 years old. He died by choking to death. Early this morning, Leah's Mom let Jupiter outside so he could, you know,l do his "business". Supposedly, he went into the woods they have in their backyard and starting knawing on a stick. I guess he then choked on it. How sad........--Soccer5525 (Tk • Ctrb) 19:22, 2 July 2008 (UTC)

Hello! (2)
Hi Erik. Today's the day of the burial of Jupiter. Leah's family plans to bury the dog in their backyard, (where they found him). I'll be attending, and so will my sister. (They live right next door, so we can just walk over.) I felt so close to Jupiter, you know? My family's never had a dog, because my Mom's allergic to them and had a terrible experince with a dog when she was younger, so she's absolutely terrified of dogs. (A dog mauled her and almost ripped off her face when she was 5.) I always would babysit Jupiter when Leah's family went away, and I loved that dog. I'll miss him. :( --Soccer5525 (Tk • Ctrb) 13:33, 3 July 2008 (UTC)

- Mine as like any other day really, but I hope yours was enjoyable. I'm up because the dogs were going crazy--the G/F's in town and she brought her dog, who tends to cry all night long while it's in its crate--plus, I generally get up around this time of day so that I can get ready to go to my internship. Wonder Woman
After looking over your request, reading through the discussion on the article's talk page, and digging through an archived discussion, I moved the pre-March 27 revisions to Wonder Woman (2009 film) following the discussion's instructions. After successfully moving these revisions, I attempted to restore the 32 edits (from March 27 onwards) to Wonder Woman (film) and in the deletion log it says that I restored them successfully. However, none of these 32 edits appear in Wonder Woman (film)'s history. I'm going to hold off on doing the same thing for the talk page until I can attempt to figure out how to restore the 32 revisions. --Nehrams2020 (talk) 21:05, 5 July 2008 (UTC)
- Okay, that's weird, there must have been some sort of delay. I was freaking out for a moment there, and searching frantically to find out how to restore those remaining revisions. Now that I am 95% sure I know how to successfully do this, I'll get some more practice on doing the talk page now. Thanks for contacting me, I was about to ask for help in fixing a mistake that didn't exist. --Nehrams2020 (talk) 21:14, 5 July 2008 (UTC)

- This isn't that big a deal, but I was just initially worried after the revisions didn't appear immediately. Okay, I moved the pre-June 23 comments to the talk page of the 2009 article. I'm pretty sure I did what you asked for, but please let me know if there is anything else I need to do/fix. By the way, could you stop by and weight in on the recent discussions at Misplaced Pages talk:WikiProject Films/Coordinators? Starting a new film article
Heya. Looking to start the article on the 2008 film Brothel but, never having created a film article before (or any article for that matter), I am unsure how to proceed. I am guessing the article would be stub for a while, seeing as I cannot seem to find critical commentary for it yet. The only source I have found is at Imdb, and of course, that is of limited use to us here. Complicating matters is that 'Brothel' currently redirects to the definition article. - Sorry, forgot to ask, but was there a TfD for Jim Carrey? Can't see it there. best, Sunil060902 (talk) 16:24, 7 July 2008 (UTC)
- Ah yes, I seem to have seen it in that discussion you linked to last week. OK, mystery solved! best, Sunil060902 (talk) 16:30, 7 July 2008 (UTC)
Re: Publisher
This is where my apparent laziness came in. I read those names from the Misplaced Pages entries for the publications, without double checking, assuming the named publisher was the correct one to use. So I should use the owning company instead? That makes more sense. Steve 19:32, 7 July 2008 (UTC)
- So, for something like MTV.com, I'd go for Viacom, rather than MTV Networks (which I've been using so far)? There's definitely some ambiguity here. Checking one from the SoP article, we have the Long Beach Press-Telegram. The publisher is explicitly stated to be Los Angeles Newspaper Group, but the overall owner is MediaNews Group. Steve 19:54, 7 July 2008 (UTC)
- You are Daniel Baldwin and I claim my five pounds. Steve 20:01, 7 July 2008 (UTC)
- So did I. I meant Alec Baldwin ("...the billion-dollar corporations...") - Steve 20:13, 7 July 2008 (UTC)
In terms of seeing the film, or improving the article? Yes on the former, though I've got a Hulk-sized backlog of films to get through before then, so it might have to wait until DVD. On the latter, it's something I've got watchlisted, but only half-heartedly so far (I don't check every edit). Do you want me to see if I can shape up the "Reception" section before the weekend? It shouldn't be a problem. Steve 14:02, 8 July 2008 (UTC)
- Yeah, that list does look kind of overwhelming. But I think it's possible to turn it into a reasonable (if short) article before the weekend without having to plough through all those. Once we've got this amendment to MOSFILM out of the way, I'll have a crack at the "Reception" section and maybe a couple of other bits and bobs I can identify as requiring attention. Steve 14:51, 8 July 2008 (UTC)
- "I've been expanding Hellboy II using headlines" - yeah, I noticed :), working through that list is going to be a long, thankless task; good luck. I'm going to make a start on the reception section this evening (I'll probably be a bit stop-start on it as I'm doing real-world stuff too), and if I get time after that I'll try to implement a couple of those headlines myself. Steve 19:38, 8 July 2008 (UTC)
- Usually I wouldn't, but the RT page is a little light on reviewers I'd be happy to cite, and I found the review (by Drew McWeeny) to be of a depth and insight that writers for publications with a set word count would be unable to match. McWeeny is the only one on that site I'd ever consider quoting in a critical reception section, but if you think he wouldn't fit, I'll chop him out. Steve 22:07, 8 July 2008 (UTC)
- Although they swear too much, I generally respect Knowles, McWeeny and Eric Vespe ("Quint") and think they do go into more depth than a lot of reviewers who are just there to inform the masses. For fantasy films it is important to note fan reaction, although it is preferred to use third-party sources to cover this in addition to some notable fan reviews. Knowles is a very infamous reviewer but I'd be ready to quote him over countless other blog sites like CHUD, Cinematical, /Film etc. Ultimately it all depends if you can't find another interesting similar opinion. - See, I actually lean the other way. I think Harry Knowles is a bit of a hack who'd give a good review to Manos: The Hands of Fate if he thought it'd get him in with the filmmakers. McWeeny, and maybe Vespe, are the only ones at the site I'd even consider quoting the opinions of. Steve 09:22, 9 July 2008 (UTC)
(outdent) I see your point; I hadn't considered any potential future FA submission. I reckon Moriarty would get through, but it wouldn't be without an extended argument/discussion as to his suitability. When there could be some other factor that needs the nominator's attention, that would be an unnecessary diversion. Steve 12:42, 9 July 2008 (UTC)
How do you choose to divide up the cites by numbers? It is it by day or something? Alientraveller (talk) 17:21, 10 July 2008 (UTC)
Mistake
My sincere apologies. I made a mistaken edit trying to revert vandalism and screwed up the article bigtime. I was trying to merely revert the edit by 12.109.157.2, and didn't realize that the error no longer existed in the current page. Thank you for your vigilance, and keep up the good work. Re: The Dark Knight
I've been trying to get a word in edgeways for the last 40 minutes. Every time I've written a couple of hundred words or so, I get an EC and find you've said what I intended to. I'm just going to leave it for a while, then try to explain in flippin' baby language the position of (I hope) WP:FILM to these links. I think we all compromise a little when we encounter a surly editor who is doing otherwise excellent work - we turn a blind eye to the odd snide comment - but with this guy I feel like when I make a correction he's passing his eye over it like a ruddy teacher ("I find most of those changes acceptable" - yeah, thanks). I can't even argue with him because he fills the talk page comments with so much unnecessary detail I lose the will to wade through it (I mean, come on, it's not necessary to spend ten minutes explaining each edit, then spend a further chastising the rest of us for not following your "prevailing citation format" that'll be thrown out as soon as it gets to FAC anyway). It wouldn't be so bad if he didn't seem to misunderstand everything that we're trying to tell him, and fill his replies with completely irrelevant comments about things you didn't even bring up. Still, you do well to take a breather from the article. It's not worth getting stressed about. Steve 19:09, 9 July 2008 (UTC)
Interested?
Any comments for ?--SkyWalker (talk) 05:15, 10 July 2008 (UTC)
Warning
Welcome to Misplaced Pages. Although everyone is welcome to contribute constructively to the encyclopedia, we would like to remind you not to attack other editors. Please comment on the contributions and not the contributors. Take a look at the welcome page to learn more about contributing to this encyclopedia. Thank you.. Please stop making personal attacks against me in Talk:Heath Ledger and in other people's talk pages. It violates WP:Etiquette and WP:NPA. Please focus on making constructive edits, not on contributors. Thank you. --NYScholar (talk) 23:02, 10 July 2008 (UTC)
- Hahahahahaha. Admins, disregard this so-called warning entirely. I checked the edit histories of the and , and the article talk itself, and found NO contribs by Erik in the last few days to either page. This is being planted by NYScholar in a preemptive strike, to preclude Erik from complaining about NYScholar's behavior over at The Dark Knight, a film in which Heath ledger acts. the subtle (not really) connection and intimidation attempt would be obvious to Erik. NO AGF here, its' a tactic. ThuranX (talk) 23:27, 10 July 2008 (UTC)
- I have just posted a similar warning on the talk page of ThuranX, who is violating WP:NPA here, on Talk:The Dark Knight, and on other people's talk pages, such as this one. Please desist. This is very immature behavior and violates Misplaced Pages:Etiquette and can lead to blocking. Thank you. --NYScholar (talk) 23:30, 10 July 2008 (UTC)
My response, considering the false nature of this so-called warning. —Erik (talk • contrib) - 01:07, 11 July 2008 (UTC)
- (ec) That was a typographical error; I meant to type Talk:The Dark Knight and The Dark Knight and. (I couldn't remember where I had made the error, but I had a sense that I had mistyped the talk and article page links; so thanks for pointing it out; strikeouts and correction in brackets above, for the record.) No, I did not know there was a policy about not posting template warnings on longtime editors' talk pages; people have done so on mine in the past, after I have been editing here for over 2 years. Where is such a policy stated? Please reply here, and I'll check later, when I'm back online.) On my own talk page, I will be archiving exchanges about this matter; I do not want to devote any more of my time to what I am now regarding as a violation of Misplaced Pages:Harrassment. Thank you. I'll archive this exchange as soon as I can after you have seen it. Then I will be offline and cannot deal with these articles or this matter any further. I just have not got time for it. It is also too distressing and I would rather spend my time otherwise. Thank you. --NYScholar (talk) 01:20, 11 July 2008 (UTC)
- No problem. It's not jsut false, it's a frame-up, i whole-heartedly believe. No other editor at that article has as set of talk and article contribs which match his accusations of false and attacking summaries agaisnt NYS. He/She/it/them/shirm seeks to discredit all opposition. I expect some other tactic to be used against me soon. probablhy an incivility warning/block, it's not unheard of. NYS will than assume that Steve can read the writing on the wall. Waste of our collective time. I would genuinely like to roll that article back to the last edit before NYS started.ThuranX (talk) 01:16, 11 July 2008 (UTC)

concur that this editor has become a royal pain. Are we being Punk'd? It's like cops in the south. "That boy violated the law by looking at that girl funny."--Stuthomas4 (talk) 01:17, 11 July 2008 (UTC)
