The article mentions twice that Campbell "starred" in Congo, which is a bit of an exaggeration. I mean, the word "starred" implies that he played one of them main characters, and his character dies five minutes into the movie. —Preceding ] comment added by ] (]) 17:04, 5 October 2010 (UTC)

"Campbell is best known for his starring role as Ash in the Evil Dead trilogy of horror/slapstick movies."

"Campbell is perhaps best known for his roles as the recurring character Aytolycus on the fantasy series Hercules: The Legendary Journeys and Xena: Warrior Princess, but also had leading starring roles in the short-lived series The Adventures of Brisco County, Jr. and Jack of All Trades."

So, what is he best known for?

An enormous chin. Easy enough to change one of the "bests" to "well"... -- ] 01:25, 22 Mar 2004 (UTC)

Well, I think the article is saying that in MOVIES he's best known for being Ash, and in TV he's best known for being Auto-whoever.

What does this statement add: " His friends have been known to say that his head shots are the best in the industry, and that he is one of the greatest reverse actors in the business"? Was there a reason for the user ] removing the entire filmography and associated information? No one seemed to notice or care, but it seems to constitute vandalism with no cited reason for the removal. ==American Christian==
Bruce is in the American Christians category, but I can't find any sources online or in the article where he identifies himself as such. The closest thing I can find is www.adherents.com where Bruce is included in the list of Christian Scientists. However, his page only includes his name and a link back to the famous Christian Scientists page. It lacks sources that provide evidence for Bruce being a Christian Scientist. I recall a few times in his autobiography where he made reference to getting married in a church of some kind, but many people get married in churches simply out of tradition. It's been years since I read his book (and I don't own a copy) so maybe he makes reference to being a Christian in it, although I doubt it since I remember it being more about his professional life than his personal life. Can anyone come up with a good source for this category or should we remove it? ] (]) 18:58, 24 June 2008 (UTC)

::If Chins Could Kill mentions his ''mother'' as a Christian Scientist early on, when it's discussing his childhood up to the point where he began his career, but I don't believe he mentions his own beliefs in it. I have heard on fairly good authority from associates of his Bruce certainly considers himself a Christian, but I know of no written source to confirm that, so I'd axe it as a category for his article. I perhaps should clarify, I figure he probably, even almost certainly IS one, at least nominally, but, without a definitive source, it seems jumping the gun to add it as a category in his article. —Preceding ] comment added by ] (]) 04:12, 14 July 2008 (UTC)

I have recently seen a movie titled "the Woods" I didn't get the chance to find the date it was made.
Bruce Campbell places as a father of a young teenage girl who is sent off to a girl's boarding school,
taken over by evil trees.
He plays a moderately big part in this movie, having to be the one who rescues his daughter,
but I've notice that the actress, whom plays the role of his wife in the movie,
is named Emma Campbell. Could anyone tell me the relation she would have with him,
perhaps his sister-in-law or something?
Also I noticed that this movie is not mentioned in this article.
—Preceding ] comment added by ] (] • ]) 03:40, 17 July 2008 (UTC)

:If they are related, it ain't close. IDMB has no mention of a blood relationship & lists Emma as coming from Canada. There are tons of Campbells in Canada and the Northeast, descending from the Scot-Irish who settled there. It's a VERY common surname. Here's the IMDB link to the film you are talking about: . There is no source listed for any of these and the source is likely Campbell himself. He has a tendency to claim to have been offered all kinds of roles with only his word to back it up. == evil dead as comedy? ==

I take issue with both evil dead film being described as slapstick comedy. viewing both, one cannot come to the conclusion that the first film was intended as slapstick comedy. furthermore, in "If Chins Could Kill" Bruce states that "The Evil Dead" was intended as a legitimate horror film. the second film is nothing more than a re-imagining of the original, so lumping them together in the same genre is like saying that "Hot Shots" and "Top Gun" are both examples of the parody humor. Please people, this is why others dont respect low budget horror films, we MUST look past budget constraints and not expect every film to look like Jurassic Park. At least provide a citation as to who made this claim. —Preceding ] comment added by ] (]) 08:27, 3 July 2010 (UTC)

Church of the SubGenius Membership?

Recently. User:Pburka removed the following pages from Category:American SubGenii.

Bruce Campbell (Mentioned here and here)

Penn Jillette (Mentioned here and here and here)

Rudy Rucker (Mentioned here, here, here and here)

Nancy A. Collins (Mentioned here, here and here)

John Shirley (Mentioned here and here)

Del Close (Mentioned here)

Paul Reubens AKA Pee Wee Herman (Mentioned here and here)

Lon Milo DuQuette (Mentioned here)

These removals were perfectly reasonable, because the articles do not mention membership in the COSG, nor are most of the links I list above reliable sources. Because of this, I am putting out a call for citations to reliable sources that establish Church of the SubGenius membership for these and other celebrities. I suspect that a fair count will put the number considerably higher than the number of celebrity Scientologists. --Guy Macon (talk) 00:49, 31 July 2012 (UTC)

The two parts of WP:BLPCAT that seem most relevant are "the case for each category must be made clear by the article text and its reliable sources" -- meaning we need to add something about Church of the SubGenius Membership in the text and we need a citation supporting it, and "Categories regarding religious beliefs ... should not be used unless the subject has publicly self-identified with the belief" -- meaning that we need a citation where Bruce Campbell himself says he is a member or strong supporter. As I said before, I think that Pburka removing the category was entirely correct; I just want to improve the article in such a way that the category can be re-added. So, does anyone know of such a citation? --Guy Macon (talk) 04:30, 1 August 2012 (UTC)
