Balrog is a boxer in the ] game series, first appearing in ] as one of the four bosses of ]. In comparison to the other characters of the series, Balrog is portrayed as a mediocre fighter and an utterly incompetant leader.

In ] (1994), Balrog is a friend and co-worker of sumo wrestler ] and ] Zang, and the three join the efforts of Colonel ] to stop the reign of General ].

In the Japanese versions of Street Fighter 2, Balrog was called M. Bison (an obvious Mike Tyson reference), Bison was called ], and Vega was called Balrog.
