::I hate to tell you this, but many of the things you wrote shouldn't have been included. I didn't want to tell at first, since I figured that some content is better than no content, and I didn't want to discourage you, because I know you are acting in good faith. But this has gone on far enough. I advice you to trim down your additions, or other people will eventually do it for you. I guarantee you I'm not the only one who thinks this. - ] (]) 19:16, 1 October 2023 (UTC) ::I hate to tell you this, but many of the things you wrote shouldn't have been included. ::::{{u|Wingwatchers}}, I appreciate the contributions you made to the article. I know your intentions are good. But you have focussed almost entirely on the main RPGs. You wrote almost nothing about other things, or the management of the franchise as a whole, like I have done. I know that Game Freak's RPGs are at the core of Pokémon, so obviously they should be mentioned. But there is more to write about. While daydreaming of the article, I imagined writing two or three sentences about ]'s lip sync video from 2006. Or a few sentences about the huge online fan communities that came up around that time. Or the resurgence of the cards during the pandemic (), with some being worth tons ().
::::Now you know why I mostly wrote about the first 7 years of Pokémon, 1996 – 2001. That alone took about two years of my life, working on it almost every day (see ] and ]). If I also have to study 2002 – 2023, that will problably take me another two years. I'm really just over this. 1996 to 2001 is when I was young. Those were the happiest days of my life. And those are the most fond memories I have of Pokémon. I still like Pokémon, but I am not going to spend even more time and energy on the Misplaced Pages article about it. Take care, ] (]) 17:57, 2 October 2023 (UTC)

ArbCom 2022 Elections voter message

Hello! Voting in the 2022 Arbitration Committee elections is now open until 23:59 (UTC) on Monday, 12 December 2022. All eligible users are allowed to vote. Users with alternate accounts may only vote once.

The Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Misplaced Pages arbitration process. It has the authority to impose binding solutions to disputes between editors, primarily for serious conduct disputes the community has been unable to resolve. This includes the authority to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail.

If you wish to participate in the 2022 election, please review the candidates and submit your choices on the voting page. If you no longer wish to receive these messages, you may add {{NoACEMM}} to your user talk page. MediaWiki message delivery (talk) 01:50, 29 November 2022 (UTC)

Length of the Pokémon article

Wingwatchers, there is a reason why I didn't include the information that you just included about Gold/Silver/Crystal, Ruby/Sapphire, etc. See WP:SIZERULE. You can enable a link called "Page size" in the "Tools" menu above every article by going to Special:Preferences#mw-prefsection-gadgets. Look for "Prosesize". The article's readable prose size has now ballooned to over 98 kB, which is way too much. The article was *already* too big, as also mentioned in the peer review. - Manifestation (talk) 11:47, 1 October 2023 (UTC)

@Manifestation ): I see that at 98 kB (16159 words) we are dangerously close to out of what is considered readable prose size. But we have not crossed the limit yet. Wingwatchers (talk) 15:02, 1 October 2023 (UTC)
Wingwatchers, you are not getting it. A Misplaced Pages article is supposed to be a summary. Pokémon#History should exist to summarize Pokémon's history. It should only include the really important stuff about the franchise. It is not supposed to mention the Distortion World, Wooloo fandom, the Kalos region being based on France, Masuda liking French food, and so on. Those facts should certainly be on Misplaced Pages, but in the Pokémon Platinum, Sword and Shield and X and Y articles. Not on the main Pokémon page.
I hate to tell you this, but many of the things you wrote shouldn't have been included. - Manifestation (talk) 19:16, 1 October 2023 (UTC)
@Manifestation I have trimmed down as much as I can, and how do you feel about the revised version? Wingwatchers (talk) 19:52, 1 October 2023 (UTC)
Wingwatchers, I appreciate the contributions you made to the article. While daydreaming of the article, I imagined writing two or three sentences about Smosh's lip sync video from 2006. Or a few sentences about the huge online fan communities that came up around that time. Or the resurgence of the cards during the pandemic (example), with some being worth tons (example).
Now you know why I mostly wrote about the first 7 years of Pokémon, 1996 – 2001. That alone took about two years of my life, working on it almost every day (see here and here).
